Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A press conference was held at the Alisher Navoi National Library of Uzbekistan dedicated to the VIII National Information Library Week INFOLIB UZBEKISTAN - 2019, which will open its doors to everyone in the building of the National Library on 28 October.

It was noted at the event that the main goal of the National Information Library Week is to increase the level of information culture and preserve the cultural heritage of the republic, popularize reading, provide the population with sources, forms and methods of access to information, familiarize them with the latest scientific and methodological developments, and increase youth interest in libraries and enhancing their intellectual knowledge and skills.

The program of the Week includes a series of events, including seminars, round tables, competitions, trainings, software presentations, quizzes to increase the intellectual knowledge of readers, spiritual and educational events, book exhibitions and theatrical performances, as well as creative meetings with famous figures of science, culture, literature and the public.

Within the framework of INFOLIB UZBEKISTAN-2019, a round table will also be held on the topic “Betger Readings - 2019. Reforms in the Library Sphere - Libraries of a New Period”, republican stages of the competitions “Best Specialist of an Information and Library Institution”, and “Information and Library Analysis”, etc.

VIII National Information and Library Week INFOLIB UZBEKISTAN - 2019 will last until 1 November.
