Tashkent Streets Temporarily Closed for Navruz Celebrations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 18 to 21 March, temporary traffic restrictions will be in effect on several streets in Tashkent due to public celebrations of Navruz, according to the press services of the Mirabad District Hokimiyat and Chilanzar District Hokimiyat.
In Mirabad District, restrictions are linked to cultural events on the gastronomic street of Taras Shevchenko Street. From 10:00 p.m. on 18 March until midnight on 23 March traffic will be fully closed on the section of Taras Shevchenko Street between the intersections with Fidokor Street and Nukus Street. The closure also affects the stretch of Sayid Baraka Street from Oybek Street to Amir Temur Avenue.
Additional restrictions will be applied in Chilanzar District. On the new pedestrian and gastronomic Al-Khorezmi Street, vehicle movement will be temporarily suspended from 3:00 p.m. on 20 March until midnight on 21 March. The closure covers the section from the Al-Khorezmi ring road to 2-Katortol Street.
City authorities urged drivers to account for the changes, plan alternative routes, and strictly observe temporary road signs and barriers.
