Tashkent Region Police Deny Rumors of Attempt to Close Case on Attack in Ahangaran District

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Main Department of Internal Affairs of Tashkent Region officially denied the circulating information online suggesting an alleged attempt to close the criminal case concerning an armed attack on a woman.

The incident occurred on 22 October in the Kuksaroy mahalla of Ahangaran District. A 33-year-old man, armed with a rifle, confronted his common-law wife, who worked in a local shop, and engaged in a conflict during which he used physical violence.

Law enforcement authorities have initiated a criminal case. The firearm registered to the suspect was seized, and his hunting license was revoked. Investigative proceedings are ongoing.

Medical examination conducted on November 11 confirmed that the victim sustained minor bodily injuries. The department clarified that the woman was in a religious marriage with the assailant.
