Tashkent Region Delegation Explores U.S. Export Opportunities with GMI

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During a visit to the United States, a delegation from Tashkent Region, led by Hokim Zoir Mirzaev, held productive meetings with representatives of the American business community.

A key discussion took place with entrepreneur Edward Schneider, founder of Grand Market International (GMI), and the corporation’s management. The parties explored prospects for mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation, including introducing products from Tashkent Region to the U.S. market through GMI’s networks, international certification requirements, and the development of logistics and export potential for the region.

Schneider provided detailed insights into GMI’s operations, supply chains, international trading experience, and the demand for ethnic food products in the United States. GMI is one of the largest U.S. corporations specializing in the import of food and agricultural products from around 20 countries.

The company has built a fully integrated food ecosystem, including logistics networks, production facilities, distribution centers, 13 NetCost supermarkets, and multi-sector enterprises such as GMI, Garden Fresh Produce, Manufacturing, and Global Food Alliance.

The Uzbek delegation presented information on agricultural and food industry reforms in Tashkent Region, features of organic product processing and export, as well as the region’s fresh and dried fruit positioning in global markets.

Following the talks, both sides agreed to explore cooperation opportunities and begin implementing practical joint projects in the near future.
