Tashkent Region and Bashkortostan Expand Industrial and Investment Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Tashkent Region Governor Zoir Mirzaev received Alexander Sheldyaev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry, Energy, and Innovation of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

During the meeting, the Russian official conveyed warm greetings and gratitude from Bashkortostan’s leader, Radiy Khabirov, and praised the industrial and investment potential of Tashkent Region.

Alexander Sheldyaev highlighted opportunities at the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex and noted the prospects for establishing modern enterprises for the production of automotive components and other industrial products. He also expressed interest in investing in vehicle maintenance services and in leveraging the experience of major Russian automotive manufacturers.

Additionally, the Deputy Prime Minister proposed expanding cooperation in education and science, organizing exchanges of scientists and students, and inviting young Uzbek specialists to study at leading universities in Bashkortostan.

In turn, Zoir Mirzaev outlined the favorable conditions being created for foreign investors in the region, as well as incentives for enterprises engaged in localizing industrial production. He also invited Russian specialists to participate in medicinal plant cultivation and beekeeping to support pharmaceutical production in the region.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to jointly hold business weeks and organize regular meetings between the business communities of Tashkent Region and the Republic of Bashkortostan.
