Tashkent Region Advances Green Energy with South Korea
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 March 2026, the governor of Tashkent Region, Zoir Mirzaev, held a meeting with representatives of the South Korean company Enersolar Group and Lee Hae Hak, Honorary Advisor to the President of the Republic of Korea and Chairman of the Inter-Korean Peace Conference.
During the talks, the parties discussed expanding cooperation in the field of green energy. Special attention was given to a project providing free installation of solar energy systems in social institutions across the region, including areas populated by ethnic Koreans. A memorandum on further cooperation was signed following the meeting.
Governor Mirzaev highlighted extensive reforms in the green energy sector, the creation of favorable conditions for investors, and new opportunities for the industry’s development. South Korean partners presented high-efficiency solar equipment, emphasizing its energy efficiency, durability, adaptability to climate conditions, and cost-effectiveness.
The parties also discussed establishing a technical maintenance system to ensure stable operation of the equipment and training local specialists through dedicated educational programs.
Mirzaev stressed that developing service infrastructure and qualified personnel is a key component of sustainable growth in the energy sector.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to systematically expand joint projects, strengthen social infrastructure, and continue mutually beneficial cooperation in green energy.
