Tashkent Metro Completes Renovation of Ring Line, Launch Set for 18 October

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Tashkent Metro has announced the near completion of scheduled maintenance works on the elevated ring line “30 Years of Independence of Uzbekistan.”

The line, which includes 14 stations, was fully closed to traffic on 2 August, following partial restrictions introduced on 8 June.

Once operations resume, trains will initially run in test mode without passengers. Regular passenger services on the line are expected to begin on 18 October 2025.

Earlier, at the end of June, Transport Prosecutor Ikrom Narimov carried out an inspection of the reconstruction works. According to the General Prosecutor’s Office, the inspection team identified a number of violations and shortcomings. Relevant organizations were instructed to eliminate them as quickly as possible and to bring the works into compliance with approved project requirements.
