Tashkent makes the largest contribution to the formation of GDP in January-September

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The largest contribution to the formation of Uzbekistan’s GDP in January-September 2019 was made by the city of Tashkent with a share of 14.0%. Tashkent and Samarkand regions occupy subsequent places with indicators of 10.1% and 7.6%, respectively.

The smallest share of GRP in the formation of the republic’s GDP was noted in Syrdarya (2.1%), Jizzakh (2.9%), Khorezm (3.7%) regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (3.5%).

According to the results of January - September 2019, the outstripping growth rates of GRP were noted in Tashkent city (8.2%), Tashkent (7.3%), Namangan (7.2%), Andijan (6.9%), Khorezm (6 , 6%) and Ferghana (6.1%) regions. Low GRP growth rates, compared with the republican level (5.7%), were observed in Kashkadarya (2.8%), Syrdarya (3.8%) and Navoi (4.0%) regions.

In January - September 2019, the share of small business (business) in the republic’s GDP made up 57.2%. By regions, the largest share of small entrepreneurship (business) was observed in Jizzakh (83.1% of the total gross value added created in the region), Surkhandarya (79.8%) and Namangan (79.3%) regions. The smallest share of small business (business) was noted in the Navoi region (31.3%), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (53.4%) and the Tashkent region (53.6%).

According to preliminary data, the GRP of the Republic of Karakalpakstan in January-September 2019 increased by 6.0% and made up 12.83 trillion soums. GRP growth is due to positive growth in the main sectors of the region’s economy, such as agriculture, forestry and fisheries –3.4% (share in the structure of GRP –23.5%), industry –2.5% (31.1%) , construction –28.0% (9.8%), services –6.3% (35.6%). GRP per capita made up 6.82 million soums and increased by 4.4%.

The volume of GRP in Andijan region at current prices made up 22.96 trillion soums and increased, in real terms, by 6.9% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. Economic growth is due to positive growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries –2.7% (share in GRP structure –– 45.0%), industry –18.7% (21.5%), construction –7.5% ( 5.6%), the service sector –5.0% (27.9%). GRP per capita made up 7.43 million soums and increased by 4.9%.

GRP of Bukhara region reached 19.12 trillion soums with an increase of 4.3%. The growth rate of agriculture, forestry and fisheries made up 0.3% (share in the structure of GRP - 44.2%), industry - 5.9% (19.0%), construction - 17.5% (8.5%) services sector - 6.2% (28.3%). The volume of GRP per capita increased by 2.7% and made up 10.03 million soums.

The increase in GRP of the Jizzakh region made up 5.1% and reached 10.37 trillion soums. In the sectoral structure of GRP, the growth rate was: in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 2.6% (share in the structure of GRP - 54.3%), industry - 4.1% (10.8%), construction - 24.8% (7.5%), in the service sector - 5.6% (27.4%). The volume of GRP per capita made up 7.61 million soums and increased by 3.0%.

The volume of GRP in Kashkadarya region made up 26.31 trillion soums and increased, in real terms, by 2.8% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. In the following main sectors, positive growth rates were noted: in the sector of agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 3.2% (share in the GRP structure - 37.7%), construction - 12.4% (6.1%), and services - 7.7% (26.2%). In industry, a decrease in the volume in comparable prices was noted, which made up 4.7% compared to the level of January-September of the previous year (the share of this industry in the GRP structure is 30.0%). GRP per capita grew by 0.7% and reached 8.12 million. soums.

GRP of Navoi region reached 24.96 trillion soums and growth made up 4.0%. GRP growth is due to positive growth in the main sectors of the regional economy. In agriculture, forestry and fisheries, the growth rate reached 2.6% (share in the structure of GRP - 16.7%), industry - 1.9% (65.9%), construction - 32.6% (4.6 %), the service sector - 5.1% (12.8%). GRP per capita grew by 2.2% and made up 25.31 million soums.

GRP of Namangan region made up 16.5 trillion soums, which is 7.2% higher than the data for January - September 2018. GRP growth rates are determined by positive growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 2.7% (share in the structure of GRP - 44.8%), industry - 14.4% (14.5%), construction - 35.8 % (6.8%) and the service sector - 5.4% (33.9%). GRP per capita increased by 5.1% and made up 5.95 million soums.

The volume of GRP of Samarkand region made up 27.32 trillion soums and growth reached 4.5%. In this region, positive growth rates were noted in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 0.6% (share in the structure of GRP - 47.5%), industry - 9.2% (15.7%), construction - 25.7 % (5.5%), in the service sector - 5.1% (31.3%). GRP per capita increased by 2.3% and made up 7.13 million soums.

In Surkhandarya region, GRP grew by 5.8% and made up 16.04 trillion soums. GRP growth factors were growth rates in the agricultural, forestry and fisheries sectors - 3.4% (share in the structure of GRP - 52.0%), industry - 7.6% (6.8%), construction - 23.0% (8.6%), in the service sector - 5.4% (32.6%). GRP per capita made up 6.19 million soums and increased by 3.5%.

The volume of GRP of Syrdarya region reached 7.6 trillion soums and growth made up 3.8%. In this region, positive growth rates were noted in the agricultural, forestry and fisheries sectors –0.3% (share in the GRP structure - 42.7%), industry - 1.5% (25.2%), construction - 24.6 % (7.1%), in the service sector - 6.7% (25.0%). The volume of GRP per capita made up 9.09 million soums and increased by 1.9%.

GRP of Tashkent region made up 36.47 trillion soums with an increase of 7.3%. GRP growth is due to positive growth in the region’s sectors: in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 2.6% (share in the structure of GRP - 25.2%), industry - 9.0% (47.3%), construction - 41.5% (4.4%), in the service sector - 4.6% (23.1%). GRP per capita increased by 5.8% and made up 12.51 million soums.

In Ferghana region, the volume of GRP grew by 6.1% and made up 23.72 trillion soums. GRP growth rates are due to the positive growth rates of the regional branches of economy. In agriculture, forestry and fisheries, the growth rate reached 3.9% (share in the structure of GRP - 35.0%), industry - 6.5% (24.5%), construction - 25.7% (6.3% ), the service sector - 5.0% (34.2%). GRP per capita made up 6.4 million soums and increased by 4.2%.

GRP of Khorezm region grew by 6.6% and made up 13.57 trillion soums. GRP growth is due to growth rates in the agricultural, forestry and fisheries sectors - 3.1% (share in the structure of GRP - 46.8%), industry - 12.0% (15.3%), construction - 23.1% ( 6.8%), in the service sector - 6.6% (31.1%). GRP per capita increased by 4.9% and made up 7.35 million soums.

GRP of the city of Tashkent made up 50.83 trillion soums, which is 8.2% higher than the same period of the previous year. The main factors of GRP growth were positive growth rates in industries such as industry - 7.0% (share in the structure of GRP - 33.2%), construction - 32.0% (11.3%), service sector - 5.0% (55.5%). GRP per capita increased by 6.0% and reached 20.07 million soums.
