Tashkent makes largest contribution to the formation of Uzbekistan’s GDP

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to preliminary data, the GRP of the Republic of Karakalpakstan for January-September 2018 in current prices made up 8.19 trillion soums and increased, in real terms, by 4.8% compared to the same period in 2017.

The growth of GRP is due to positive growth rates in the main sectors of the regional economy, such as agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 0.8% (the share in the structure of GRP - 16.3%), industry - 3.5% (33.2%) , construction - 4.4% (8.1%), services - 6.7% (42.4%). GRP per capita reached 4.42 million soums and grew by 3.3%.

The GRP of Andijan region in current prices made up 13.17 trillion soums and grew by 8.3%. Economic growth is due to positive growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 0.4% (share in the GRP structure - 27.9%), industry - 28.1% (27.7%), construction - 5.8% (6.4%), services - 4.1% (38.0%). GRP per capita was 4.34 million soums and grew by 6.5%.

In Bukhara region, the GRP growth was 3.8% and reached 10.44 trillion soums. In the sectoral structure of the GRP, growth rates were as follows: in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 4.0% (share in the GRP structure - 28.3%), construction - 3.9% (11.4%), services - 5,8% (40.0%). In industry, there was a decrease in volumes by 0.7% compared to the corresponding period of 2017 (the share of this industry in the structure of GRP is 20.3%). The volume of GRP per capita increased by 2.3% and amounted to 5.55 million soums.

GRP of Jizzakh region made up 5.35 trillion soums with an increase by 4.1%. The growth rates of agriculture, forestry and fisheries amounted to 1.8% (the share in the structure of the GRP - 37.0%), in construction - 7.3% (9.0%), in the service sector - 7.3% (39.7%). In industry, there was a decrease by 2.4% compared to corresponding period of 2017 (the share of this industry in the structure of GRP is 14.3%). The volume of GRP per capita made up 4.01 million soums and grew by 2.1%.

The GRP of Kashkadarya region increased by 3.0% and reached 15.34 trillion soums. The growth of GRP is due to positive growth rates in the main sectors of the regional economy: in industry - 4.3% (share in the structure of GRP - 35.9%), construction - 2.3% (7.5%), services - 4.4% (33. 5%). In the industry of agriculture, forestry and fisheries, there was a decrease in volume by 2.1% compared to January-September 2017 (the share of this industry in the structure of GRP is 23.1%). GRP per capita increased by 1.0% and amounted to 4.83 million soums.

In Navoi region, the GRP growth was 4.0% and reached 13.27 trillion soums. In the sectoral structure of the GRP, the growth rate of agriculture, forestry and fisheries was 2.1% (the share in the GRP structure was 13.4%), in industry - 1.2% (62.4%), and construction - 23.1% (4.9%), services - 7.6% (19.3%). GRP per capita increased by 2.4% and amounted to 13.76 million soums.

The GRP of Namangan region was 8.76 trillion soums, which is 5.0% higher than the data of the same period of 2017. Growth rates of GRP are due to positive growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 5.8% (share in the GRP structure - 26.4%), industry - 7.4% (17.2%), construction - 3.6% (7.0%) and the service sector - 3.9% (49.4%). GRP per capita increased by 3.1% to 3.22 million soums.

The GRP volume of Samarkand region made up 15.62 trillion soums and grew by 2.9%. In this region, positive growth rates were observed in industry —5.3% (share in the GRP structure — 19.2%), construction —9.6% (6.3%), services (4.9%) (42.3%). In the industry of agriculture, forestry and fisheries, a decrease of 2.5% was recorded compared the same period of 2017 (the share of this industry in the structure of the GRP is 32.2%). GRP per capita increased by 0.9% to 4.16 million soums.

In Surkhandarya region, the GRP grew by 4.2% and amounted to 9.64 trillion soums. Growth factors for GRP were growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 1.6% (share in the GRP structure - 41.7%), industry - 15.4% (8.3%), construction - 5.8% (8.5%), the service sector - 3.9% (41.5%). GRP per capita made up 3.8 million soums, which is 2.0% higher than the data of the same period of 2017.

GRP of Syrdarya region amounted to 4.35 trillion soums with an increase of 4.6%. In the main sectors of the regional economy, positive growth rates have also been noted. In particular, growth rate in agriculture, forestry and fisheries made up 3.1% (share in the GRP structure - 35.4%), industry - 5.1% (26.6%), construction - 7.6% (5.2%), services - 4.9% (32.8%). The volume of GRP per capita was 5.3 million soums and grew by 3.0%.

In Tashkent region, the GRP was 22.83 trillion soums and grew by 4.4%. The growth of GRP is due to positive growth rates in the sectors of the regional economy: in agriculture, forestry and fisheries –2.5% (the share in the structure of GRP is 22.9%), industry - 5.0% (45.2%), construction - 20.6% (3.5%), services - 103.4% (28.4%). GRP per capita increased by 3.2% and amounted to 7.94 million soums.

The GRP of Ferghana region grew by 5.3% and amounted to 14.34 trillion soums. The growth rate of the GRP is due to the positive growth rates of the regional industries. In agriculture, forestry and fisheries, growth rates made up 4.5% (share in the structure of GRP –21.4%), industry - 106.6% (26.9%), construction - 108.3% (6.7% ), the service sector - 104.4% (45.0%). GRP per capita amounted to 3 937.9 thousand soums and grew by 3.7%.

In Khorezm region, the GRP made up 7.67 trillion soums, exceeding the level of January-September 2017 by 4.4%. The growth of GRP is due to growth rates in agriculture, forestry and fisheries at the level of 0.3% (its share in the structure of GRP is 31.8%), industry –11.5% (18.9%), construction - 5.8% (8.0%), services - 103.9% (41.3%). GRP per capita increased by 2.7% to 4.22 million soums.

The GRP of Tashkent city made up 37.45 trillion soums, which is 8.4% higher than the data of January-September 2017. The main growth factors for GRP were positive growth rates in such industries as industry - 5.8% (share in the GRP structure - 33.2%), construction - 11.0% (8.7%), services - 9.2% (58.1%). GRP per capita increased by 6.6% and amounted to 15.09 million soums.

The largest contribution to the formation of the republic’s GDP was made by Tashkent city with a specific weight of 15.3%. Tashkent and Samarkand regions take the next places with indicators of 9.3% and 6.4% respectively. The lowest share of GRP in the formation of the republic’s GDP was recorded in Syrdarya (1.8%), Jizzakh (2.2%), and Khorezm (3.1%) regions.

According to the results of January-September 2018, the outrunning growth rates of GRP were recorded in Tashkent city (8.4%), Andijan region (8.3%), and Ferghana region (5.3%). Low growth rates of GRP, as compared with the republican level (5.2%), were observed in Samarkand (2.9%), Kashkadarya (3.0%), Bukhara (3.8%) regions.

In January-September 2018, the largest share of agriculture, forestry and fisheries in the sectoral structure of the GRP was Surkhandarya region (41.7%), industry - Navoi region (62.4%), construction - Bukhara region (11.4%) , services - Tashkent (58.1%).

The smallest share of agriculture, forestry and fisheries (13.4%) and the service sector (19.3%) was recorded in Navoi region, industry in Surkhandarya region (8.3%), construction in Tashkent region (3.5%).
