Tashkent Leads in GDP Contribution, Navoi Tops per Capita GRP in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Preliminary data indicate that in January–September 2025, Uzbekistan’s gross domestic product (GDP) at current prices amounted to 1,303.7 trillion soums, reflecting a 7.6% real increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to the National Statistics Committee.
The city of Tashkent contributed the largest share to GDP formation, accounting for 19.3% of the total. Tashkent Region and Navoi Region followed with 9.7% and 8.3%, respectively. The smallest contributions were recorded in Syrdarya Region (1.9%), the Republic of Karakalpakstan (2.8%), and Jizzakh Region (2.9%).
By sector, the largest share of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries was in Surkhandarya and Jizzakh regions (both 37.8%). Industrial production was led by Navoi Region (74.5%) and Tashkent Region (44.4%). In construction, Tashkent city contributed 11.4%, while Bukhara and Surkhandarya regions each accounted for 9.9%. Among services, the highest contributions were in the capital (62.3%) and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (51.5%).
Navoi Region ranked first in gross regional product (GRP) per capita at 98.4 million soums, followed by Tashkent city with 80.3 million soums, and Tashkent Region with 40.5 million soums.
The share of small businesses in the country’s GDP reached 51.5%. By region, the largest shares of small enterprises were in Surkhandarya (76.5%), Namangan (72.8%), and Bukhara (72.2%) regions, while the smallest were in Navoi Region (22.4%) and Tashkent city (50.3%).
