Tashkent Launches 25th Anniversary of Rossotrudnichestvo
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A jubilee program marking the 25th anniversary of Rossotrudnichestvo’s representation in Uzbekistan (Russian House in Tashkent) has officially begun in Tashkent.
The opening of the series of events took place on March 26 and featured the launch of a new student theater project designed to support and develop youth creative collectives.
The first performance of the project was a stage adaptation of Boris Vasilyev’s novella The Dawns Here Are Quiet, presented by students from the branch of Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University in Jizzakh on the stage of the State Youth Theater of Uzbekistan.
The initiative for the production originated from the student troupe of the KFU branch. Rossotrudnichestvo reviewed the creative concept and potential of the project and provided comprehensive support for its implementation.
In collaboration with the State Youth Theater of Uzbekistan, a concept was developed to bring the student performance to a professional stage with full directorial and artistic guidance. Artistic supervision was provided by Anvar Kartayev and Rimma Abdurakhmanova, while the director of the production was KFU branch lecturer Andrey Matyas, who guided the students throughout the preparation process.
The production preparation lasted several months. During the preliminary stage, theater specialists visited Jizzakh to familiarize themselves with the play and identify areas for refinement. The final stage took place in Tashkent, where students participated in intensive rehearsals for a week, working on stage movement, emotional expression, scenography, and costume elements.
The project involved 28 students from various disciplines, ranging from information technology to medicine. The performance attracted more than 200 spectators and was presented in an immersive format, allowing the audience to fully engage with the story and emotionally connect with the plot.
The audience’s high engagement and enthusiastic response demonstrated the success of the project.
At the conclusion, Irina Staroselskaya, head of Rossotrudnichestvo in Uzbekistan, thanked participants and highlighted the importance of such initiatives for developing the youth cultural environment. The student troupe received certificates of appreciation and commemorative gifts to support their further creative activities.
The launch of the theater project officially kicked off Rossotrudnichestvo’s anniversary year, which will include a series of educational, cultural, and youth-oriented events aimed at fostering humanitarian cooperation and supporting youth initiatives.
