Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At present, the joint-stock company Uzbekiston Temir Yollari is carrying out large-scale capital repairs (rehabilitation) on the section of the Salar - Chirchik - Khodjikent railway to organize high-speed passenger trains, in particular suburban ones.
Within the framework of this project, two stages of repair work are being carried out. The first stage takes place on the Salar - Chirchik section. On this railway section, overhaul is being carried out on an 11-kilometer section. The second stage involved the Chirchik - Khodjikent section. It is planned to replace 17 kilometers of inventory rails with welded rail lashes.
Also, in order to prevent road accidents, five unguarded railway crossings are transferred to guarded ones. On the main tracks of the stations, faulty turnouts with reinforced concrete beams will be replaced. Overhaul of bridges and replacement of culverts are underway. In addition, medium repairs of railway tracks at stations and hauls are carried out, crushed stone ballast prism is cleaned, defective sleepers and fasteners are replaced, as well as planned preventive alignment of tracks.
The widespread use of high-performance track machines and resource-saving technologies increases the technical level and reliability of the track, and ensures the stability of the track condition. To this end, in order to solve the tasks set to update the infrastructure, Uzbekiston Temir Yollari uses new technologies in the repair of tracks. In particular, a DUOMATIC 08-32 track machine (Austria) is used to carry out the alignment and straightening of the railway.
It should be noted that due to the systematic work on the repair of tracks due to wear, accumulation of residual deformations, etc. significant work has been entrusted to the track facilities of Uzbekiston Temir Yollari. The volume of track works, their nature, as well as labor costs and material consumption for the current maintenance of the track, to a large extent depend on the timeliness and quality of the work carried out. That is why the employees of the track facilities work non-stop all year round. All work is carried out in accordance with the approved schedule and full preparation for repair and track works.
Major repairs are carried out, including, according to the consistently implemented complexes of measures aimed at further developing the tourist potential and creating favorable conditions for the travel of local and foreign tourists, organizing and ensuring transport interconnection of tourist routes in the unique natural zones of Tashkent region.
