The discussion was aimed at to consider international experience in the sphere of tourism sector research and training, to agree future objectives, tasks, expected results and project priorities, to consider the best ways of integrating the teaching of English language and professional subjects, to approve the project plan for the period June 2013 to March 2014.
The event was directed at the specialists in the field of vocational education and training and will include representatives from a range of organizations including ministries and training institutions involved in this sector.
In the course of the round table, participants learnt about the findings of research carried out into tourism markets and discuss how employers, ministries and colleges can work together to develop a flexible training programme for the sector which meets market needs. During the meeting participants shared with experience of United Kingdom Ukraine on those issues.
It should be reminded, that Uzbek-British cooperation in the field of education dates back 16 years to when a Memorandum on Cooperation was signed between the governments of the two countries and the British Council office opened in Tashkent in 1996.
The British Council projects in Uzbekistan aim to support national reforms in the field of education, to create opportunities for professional development and to promote the teaching and learning of English.
