Tashkent hosts a meeting on issues of animal welfare

The event was attended by members of the Society of Protection of Animals “Mehr va Oqibat”, volunteers and other people, who are not indifferent to the problem of neglected animals and against their mistreatment.

The Society, which was founded in 2010, is working on saving homeless animals, providing them medical services and shelter. It also organizes educational seminars among people to promote humane treatment of animals. The members of the Society also participate in development of legislative documents directed against cruel treatment of animal and hold measures within the programme of sterilization of homeless animals, which are widely implemented in foreign states.

Timur Aripov, a member of Society of Protection of Animals, said that such open meetings allows to establish dialogue with people and protect animals, as well decrease number of neglected animals in the streets with humane ways.

At the meeting, the participants considered operations of the society, work on legislation, programme of animal sterilization and other issues.
