Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 10 February 2020, a round table was held at the Tashkent State Law University on the anniversary of the adoption of the law “On international treaties of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
The event, which was attended by representatives of ministries and departments, as well as scientific and academic circles, was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in conjunction with the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Inter-Parliamentary Relations of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and the Tajik State Law University.
The participants in the round table analyzed the current state of the practical implementation of the provisions of the law, exchanged views on pressing issues of law enforcement practice and generally positively assessed the work done in this direction.
It was noted that the practice of applying the law indicates the timeliness and importance of its adoption as a normative legal act, the existing force of direct action.
Strengthening the requirements for conducting interagency study and the introduction of a mechanism for legal examination of projects served to improve their quality and ensure the conclusion of extremely practical agreements. As a result, in 2019 the number of signed documents decreased by more than 40% compared to 2018.
The participants confirmed the need for the speedy completion of the creation of an electronic database of a unified record of international treaties, inventory and monitoring of their implementation by consolidating the efforts of the ministries to develop information technology and communications, foreign affairs and justice.
The event also presented the draft Guidelines for the preparation and legal and technical execution of international treaties of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to the results of the round table, the participants developed proposals for improving the implementation of certain provisions of the law and further improving the legal activities of ministries and departments.
