Tashkent examines European experience in optimizing customs administration
Tashkent. Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 11 March 2019, with the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Austria, a three-day training seminar began for specialists of state institutions of Uzbekistan involved in the development of foreign trade and customs administration in Tashkent. The training seminar was organized by the United Nations Development Program jointly with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The training seminar conducted by the head of the National Tax and Customs Administration of Hungary Andras Tsabo, is designed to help learn the experience of the customs regulations of the European Union, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said.
At the training sessions, the issues of simplification of customs regulation, customs control after the release of goods, determination of customs value, cooperation with other stakeholders, the benefits of introducing the institution of the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) are considered.
Specialists from the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, State Customs Committee, Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Uzstandart Agency, State Committee for Facilitating Privatized Enterprises and Competition Development, as well as academics from Tashkent State University of Economics, Westminster University, participate in the training. in Tashkent and other departments.
Simplification of export-import regulation, as well as improving the position of Uzbekistan in the Doing Business ranking is one of the key areas of UNDP project activities in support of improving the business climate, facilitating trade and attracting investment.
Earlier, a study tour to Austria and Hungary was organized for representatives of state bodies to study issues of customs regulation and familiarization with the work of customs posts, and in November 2018 in Tashkent a training seminar was held on improving customs regulation and administration.
