Tashkent city Council of UzLiDeP determine priorities for 2014

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent city Council of the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businesspeople – Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP) held a session to sum up results of 2013 and priority tasks for 2014, the press service of the party said.

In 2013, Tashkent city Council of UzLiDeP held about 700 events to implement priority tasks, outlined in the Concept of further deepening democratic reforms and forming civil society in the country and the state programme “The Year of Well-being and Prosperity”, which were attended by over 60,000 activist of the party, voters and population.

Last year, the MPs Group at Tashkent city Council of People’s Deputies held 191 meetings with the voters. About 21,964 voters participated in the events. About 141 from 165 appeals from voters were solved. MPs directed 94 MPs requests and 20 of them were related to implementation of the laws and governmental resolutions, and 74 – appeals of the citizens.

The party also conducted work on protection of businesses, raise their economic-legal, public-political knowledge, etc. Over 12,000 people attended 42 events dedicated to this direction. About 73 out of 89 appeals of businesses were solved and 56 businesses received legal consultations.

The party also participated in various projects directed at attracting young people and women into business activities. These projects helped to improve legal and business knowledge of over 15,000 participants. The most active of them received from banks loans for 500 million soums to launch their businesses.

At the session, the participants analyzed works of the district Councils of the party, their shortages and implementation of the state programme “The Year of Healthy Children”.

The participants also considered future activities of the party in context of changes and amendments to the Constitution of Uzbekistan. It was noted that UzLiDeP and its members should strengthen public control and activities of the MPs, develop cooperation with NGOs and other public organizations.

It was underlined that local MPs should consider reports of the heads of administrations on development of the regions. The participants also outlined plans for 2014, including preparations to upcoming elections.

The Council adopted corresponding decisions on all considered issues.
