Tashkent Authorities Promise to Resolve Temporary Inconveniences from Pedestrian Traffic Light on Rustaveli Street

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Tashkent city administration commented on the operation of the new audio-visual pedestrian traffic light installed on Shota Rustaveli Street, following numerous complaints from residents on social media about excessive noise.

The administration stated that the system is currently operating in test mode and specialists are continuing to adjust its settings.

“The device is being calibrated: its volume is gradually being reduced from around 90 dB to 40–50 dB, which corresponds to comfortable levels for an urban environment. At the same time, operating phases are being optimized based on pedestrian flow intensity. When the flow decreases, the device will automatically turn off and will be reactivated during morning hours,” the city administration said.

The agency emphasized that all inconveniences are temporary and will be resolved once the adjustment work is completed.
