Tanzila Narbayeva takes part in First SCO Women’s Forum

On 16 May 2018, a delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva took part in the work of the First Women’s Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in China. The event is organized by the All-China Women’s Federation.
At the opening of the Forum, the head of the Uzbek delegation, T.Narbayeva, made a speech.
Forum participants were familiarized with ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan and achievements in the field of gender, social and family policy.
At the forum the delegation of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Mongolia and Nepal discussed the state and prospects of cooperation between women’s organizations in different areas, both in terms of bilateral and interregional. Delegations supported the new format of interregional cooperation within the framework of the SCO.
The visit program included meetings and talks with Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, the chairman of the All-China Women’s Federation Sheng Yueyue, heads of research centers, non-governmental organizations, as well as familiarization with a number of women support projects in various fields.
