Tanzila Narbaeva speaks at a labor conference in Geneva

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic, the chairman of the Women’s Committee Tanzila Narbaeva takes part in the 107th labor conference in Geneva.

On 31 May, Narbayeva spoke about the course and effectiveness of reforms in the country in the socio-economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres within the framework of the Development Strategy of Uzbekistan for 2017-2021.

In particular, she made emphasis on cooperation with the International Labor Organization (ILO) on improving national labor legislation, ensuring employment and creating decent working conditions, introducing parliamentary and public control over the implementation of ILO conventions.

Narbayeva dwelt on the issues of Uzbekistan’s implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, the establishment of an effective social dialogue between partners in the world of work, dialogue with the population, as well as with representatives of civil society.

The participants of the conference were informed about the wide-ranging measures to ensure gender equality in the country and the role of women in society.
