Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 November 2019, the second day of the official visit of the parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan began with a ceremony of laying flowers at the Otan Korgaushylar Monument, which implies the unity of all the peoples of multinational Kazakhstan.

Then there was a meeting of the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva with the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dariga Nazarbayeva. During the meeting, a wide range of issues was discussed.

Noting the friendly Kazakh-Uzbek relations that are developing on the principles of mutually beneficial partnership and trust, Tanzila Narbaeva emphasized that the leadership of Uzbekistan pays special attention to strengthening bilateral cooperation in all areas.

“The consistent implementation of the Economic Cooperation Strategy of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan for 2017-2019 served to build mutually beneficial and fruitful interaction based on the common strategic interests of the two countries. In Uzbekistan, there are 733 enterprises with the participation of Kazakhstani capital. In January-September 2019, the volume of mutual trade made up US$2.6 billion and grew by 23.2%, the sphere of transport and transit transportation is also noticeably developing. ”

Speaking about inter-parliamentary relations, the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan emphasized the importance of the upcoming joint work on legislative support of bilateral cooperation. At the same time, it was proposed to use the potential of parliamentary cooperation groups and specialized committees of parliaments more pragmatically to exchange experience in legislative activity. During the meeting, issues of strengthening interaction within the framework of international parliamentary structures were also discussed.

The Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dariga Nazarbayeva in her speech emphasized that Uzbekistan is an important strategic partner of Kazakhstan in Central Asia. “Today, Kazakh-Uzbek relations demonstrate high dynamics of development in all areas. The main merit in this belongs to the First President of Kazakhstan - Elbasy N.A. Nazarbayev and the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev,” said the Chairperson of the Senate of Kazakhstan.

The Head of the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan said that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kazakhstan, made his second foreign visit as the Head of State to Uzbekistan, and this once again confirms the commitment to further strengthen relations in the spirit of mutual understanding and good neighborliness.

As part of the meeting, the signing ceremony of the “Plan of practical measures (the Roadmap”) on the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2019-2020 took place.
