Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva met with the Speaker of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nigmatulin.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 50th plenary meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States, which was held in St. Petersburg.

During the conversation, the current state and prospects for the further development of the Uzbek-Kazakh inter-parliamentary cooperation were discussed.

Tanzila Narbaeva emphasized that cooperation with the parliament of Kazakhstan is gaining intensive turnover. Given that Kazakhstan is the most historic neighbor, the urgent issue of migration was also discussed.

The speaker of the parliament of Kazakhstan emphasized that active work is underway to ratify the document in the interests of migrants from Uzbekistan.

The parties expressed a common opinion on strengthening parliamentary participation and assistance in implementing the agreements of the leaders of the two countries.

Nurlan Nigmatulin noted that the parties will adhere to and fully support the agreements reached during the visit of the delegation of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis to Kazakhstan on November 4-5 of this year.

The year of Kazakhstan is passing in Uzbekistan, within the framework of which the planned activities are carried out aimed at the development of trade, tourism and culture.
