At a ceremony to mark the accession to the throne of the new Emperor of Japan Naruhito, the head of the delegation of Uzbekistan congratulated him on his accession to the throne. The parties expressed a desire to continue strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan. This was reported by the Senate Information Service of the Oliy Majlis.

Also within the framework of this event, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Senate Tanzila Narbaeva and the Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe.

During the meeting, it was noted that relations between the two countries are developing steadily. Especially, mutual interest is growing ahead of the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan.
