Tanzila Narbaeva: Inter-parliamentary ties are called upon to give due depth to bilateral cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of the program of the official visit of the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva and members of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In her welcoming speech, Tanzila Narbaeva noted that the friendly and good-neighborly relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are steadily strengthening, gaining ever greater development, are being filled with new content in specific areas, including in the area of inter-parliamentary cooperation.

It was emphasized that Uzbekistan highly appreciates the fact that the leadership of Kazakhstan attaches great importance to expanding cooperation between our countries and peoples. The intensity of bilateral political, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations is steadily increasing, which fully meets the interests of the two states. Thus, the signing of the Strategic Partnership Agreement and the Joint Declaration on the further deepening of strategic partnerships and strengthening good neighborliness has become a new milestone in the consistent development of cooperation.

Based on this, the Presidents of both countries set the task of ensuring by the end of 2020 a further increase in bilateral trade to US$5 billion, diversification of its structure, the development of new long-term forms of economic cooperation and investment cooperation, including inter-regional cooperation.

Given the intensification of Uzbek-Kazakh cooperation in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as the growth of mutual trips of citizens, T. Narbaeva suggested revising some issues in the consular sphere, in particular, regarding the extension of the stay of Uzbek citizens in Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the head of the Senate emphasized that parliamentary diplomacy is recognized as the most important foreign policy resource both in bilateral relations and in solving various pressing problems.

Thus, it has a direct impact not only on deepening mutual trust, but also on expanding partnerships in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian fields.

In particular, T.Narbayeva proposed to actively develop cooperation with regional deputies, who on the ground will promote bilateral cooperation.
