Talos Capital Delegation Explores Investment Opportunities in Uzbekistan’s IT Sector and Startup Ecosystem

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 8 to 10 September, a delegation from venture capital firm Talos Capital, led by Chris Tsangos, co-founder of the Greek innovation ecosystem and former Managing Director of Microsoft Greece and Intel Greece, visited Uzbekistan. The visit included meetings with government officials and representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan.

On behalf of IT Park, Supervisory Board Chairman Farhod Ibragimov and CEO Abdulahad Kuchkarov took part in the discussions. The delegation was thoroughly briefed on Uzbekistan’s support measures and competitive advantages that make the country attractive to international investors and technology companies.

Talos Capital specializes in venture investments in cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence, deep tech, cybersecurity, and defense. The firm focuses on early-stage investments — seed and Series A — and maintains offices in Greece, Germany, Israel, New York, and San Francisco. Its leadership team includes global IT industry figures such as Chris Tsangos, Nir Netzer, Stratos Davlos, and Manfred Tropper.

During the meeting, IT Park representatives presented the technopark’s capabilities and the country’s infrastructure potential, highlighting support measures for international companies. These include tax and customs incentives, streamlined visa and work permit procedures for foreign specialists, as well as other tools to foster business development in Uzbekistan.

Special attention was given to the national IT sector’s competitive advantages: strong government backing for the digital economy, availability of skilled professionals, advantageous geographic position, and potential access to regional and global markets.

Talks also focused on developing the startup ecosystem and boosting venture capital activity. Talos Capital expressed interest in the opportunities presented and confirmed readiness to build partnership relations.

Cooperation with Talos Capital is expected to be a significant step toward attracting international investment and strengthening Uzbekistan’s position in the global IT market. Joint projects will leverage state support, skilled talent, and the country’s strategic location to advance startups, train specialists, and expand into new technology markets.
