Syrian Entrepreneurs Explore Tax Incentives and Industrial Cluster Infrastructure in Bukhara

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Syrian entrepreneurs arrived in Bukhara to familiarize themselves with the region’s industrial potential.

Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed measures to actively expand the presence of Uzbek companies in foreign markets, increase export volumes, and strengthen industrial cooperation with neighboring countries.

In particular, the significant demand of markets in Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan—estimated at around US$30 billion—for electrical equipment, textiles, food products, automobiles, pharmaceuticals, and construction materials was highlighted. This demand defines a priority direction for expanding exports to these countries.

In line with these directives, the delegation visited Bukhara to study the operations of the Merganteks Cotton-Textile Cluster.

During the visit, the guests examined the working conditions of enterprises, current tax and customs incentives, the cluster’s infrastructure, and the production capacity of local companies, assessing opportunities for future cooperation and supplies to Middle Eastern markets.
