Syrdarya Region Strengthens Economic Ties with Hong Kong
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During an official visit to Hong Kong, Governor of Uzbekistan’s Syrdarya region, Erkinjon Turdimov, held a working meeting with Agnes Chan, Chairperson of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC).
The discussions focused on expanding interregional economic cooperation and activating investment activities.
Founded in 1861 and representing more than 2,000 companies, the HKGCC is a leading business platform that promotes international investment and fosters the development of a global trade environment.
The parties discussed key areas of collaboration, including transport and logistics, tourism, and information technology.
Syrdarya region proposed establishing a direct dialogue between the chambers of commerce of the two regions to more effectively attract Hong Kong investments.
Following the meeting, both sides agreed to move toward practical implementation of cooperation, including jointly developing a portfolio of concrete investment projects and initiatives.
The meeting underscored the readiness of both sides to deepen economic ties and expand engagement in strategically important sectors.
