Surkhandarya Region and Fars Province Sign Memorandum
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting took place in Shiraz, Islamic Republic of Iran, between a delegation from Surkhandarya Region and the Governor of Fars Province, Hossein Ali Amiri.
The event was attended by representatives of the Surkhandarya Region, officials from Fars Province, as well as guests from Iraq.
During the discussions, Hossein Ali Amiri spoke warmly of his recent visit to Surkhandarya Region, emphasizing the productive nature of the negotiations and substantive discussions held during the trip. He noted that the regions have broad opportunities to expand cooperation in trade and economics, agriculture, education, healthcare, culture, and tourism.
The Governor of Fars Province also highlighted the centuries-old ties of friendship, cultural affinity, and historical kinship between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Iran, expressing confidence in the continued strengthening of bilateral relations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a memorandum of mutual cooperation was signed between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Surkhandarya Region and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Fars Province. The document will serve as an important legal basis for the development of trade, industry, investment, and the implementation of joint business projects.
Additionally, separate discussions were held between the heads of the Departments of Industry and Trade, the Central Bank, the Customs Service, and the Agriculture Administration of Fars Province and the Surkhandarya delegation. The parties discussed practical issues of cooperation in logistics, finance, investment, and other business-relevant areas.
The negotiations were conducted in a constructive atmosphere, with both sides agreeing to begin practical implementation of the planned areas of cooperation.
