Supervisory councils of schools to be created in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Supervisory councils of general education institutions are abolished in Uzbekistan from 1 October 2018.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On additional measures to improve the system of public education management” on 5 September 2018.

The head of Uzbekistan instructed to abolish the boards of trustees of general education institutions from 1 October 2018.

Instead, supervisory boards will be created, which will include the most active parents, graduates and sponsors.

The Supervisory Councils will elect the head of the school from among the candidates recommended by the ministry, as well as making proposals for his release from his post.

The Councils will determine the direction of development of the general educational institution and hear the reports of the head of the school on the financial and economic status, incomes and expenditures, use of budgetary, extrabudgetary, sponsorship and other means.

The Supervisory Councils will also consider the appeals of students and their parents, conduct sociological surveys about the activities of pedagogical and managerial staff of the general educational institution.
