SUPERSHOP in Nukus Found in Violation of Competition Law

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During an inspection of the activities of the SUPERSHOP retail outlet in Nukus, Republic of Karakalpakstan, the use of misleading advertising statements on social media, such as “the cheapest,” was identified.

The company did not provide objective verified characteristics or comparative data regarding its products relative to competitors, and the advertisements were posted on Instagram.

As a result of the inspection, the Committee for the Development of Competition concluded that SUPERSHOP’s actions violated the requirements of Article 21 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Competition.”

In connection with the identified violation, a special commission of the Committee initiated proceedings against the company.

Following the review, the enterprise was given legal guidance and provided with instructions to fully eliminate the violations of the legislation.
