Students to study three years to become a teacher in some subjects

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - A resolution of the President “On measures for the further development of the field of teacher education” was adopted.

The resolution determines the priority areas for the development of teacher education.

One of the priority areas is the identification of young people with an increased interest in the teaching profession, as well as the introduction of a continuous system of targeted training and education.

In accordance with the resolution, training in certain areas of teacher education will be carried out as part of bachelor’s degree programs with a 3-year study period.

The resolution approved a list of some areas of undergraduate education in the field of teacher education, the training of personnel in which starting from the 2020/2021 academic year is carried out on the basis of educational undergraduate programs with a study period of 3 years.

Also, Pedagogical institutes of Samarkand, Andijan, Bukhara, Termez, Karshi State Universities were formed.

These pedagogical institutes are equal in status to a branch of the national higher educational institution.

Starting from the academic year 2020/2021, the following are implemented:

- the formation of target parameters for admission in regions with a high need for pedagogical personnel with higher education in the fields of public education and preschool education within the framework of indicators for admission to study on the basis of a state grant of state order parameters with the condition of 5 years of working in the corresponding region;

- organization at the initial stage of the educational process at the Tashkent State Pedagogical University on the basis of a credit-modular education system;

- the introduction of the procedure for passing, along with professional (creative) exams, test tests in three compulsory subjects - the native language (Uzbek, Russian or Karakalpak languages), mathematics and history of Uzbekistan for admission to study in areas of bachelor education in the field of teacher education that require special skills (in this case test tests in three compulsory subjects, as a rule, will be conducted after the announcement of the results of professional (creative) exams).
