Students of Uzbekistan studying in Turkish universities receive information on upcoming elections

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Turkey met with Uzbek students studying at Karabuk and Kastamonu universities, the topic of which was preparation for the upcoming important political event in our country - elections to the Legislative Chamber of the national parliament and local kengashes People’s Deputies, Dunyo reports.

The meetings provided detailed information on the preparations for the upcoming elections, their main distinguishing features from previous elections, including the conditions created for citizens of the country who are abroad to exercise their constitutional rights.

At the same time, the Regulation on the procedure for the formation of polling stations at diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Uzbekistan in foreign countries, approved by the relevant resolution of the Central Election Commission of 22 October 2019, the procedure for registering voters staying abroad, and organizing their voting are explained in detail.

During the meetings, Uzbek students also got acquainted with certain aspects of the large-scale transformations being carried out in the country, aimed at ensuring further economic growth and the well-being of the people, improving the education system, as well as strengthening social protection of the country's population.

In addition, they were informed about the current state of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey, including ongoing major projects in the fields of economy, education and tourism, as well as in the cultural and humanitarian field.

Students who spoke at the meetings expressed their willingness to take an active part in the upcoming elections.

Based on the results of the meetings, lists of students eligible to vote in the upcoming elections are drawn up.

The leadership of the Karabuk and Kastamonu universities highly appreciated the work actively carried out by the Uzbek side with compatriots abroad, the hard work, diligence and efforts of Uzbek students in the learning process, as well as their active participation in the public life of universities.

In particular, taking into account leadership qualities, academic success and an active life position, foreign students studying at Karabuk University chose the representative of Uzbekistan Khumoyun Turaboev, a native of Namangan region, studying in the 3-year course in international relations, as the head of his association.

It should be noted that about eight thousand students from 83 countries are members of the Association of Foreign Students of Karabuk University. At the same time, this university, along with 10 universities located in Ankara and Istanbul, is currently among the top 1000 best universities in the world.

The leadership of the Karabuk and Kastamonu universities agreed on the organization of voting of Uzbek students during the upcoming elections on the basis of Turkish educational institutions.
