Statistics Agency: The average monthly salary in Uzbekistan reached 5.36 million soums

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The average monthly salary in Uzbekistan amounted to 5.36 million soums in 2024, compared to 4.56 million soums in 2023, according to the Statistics Agency.

In January-December 2024, the highest average monthly nominal salaries by region were recorded in Tashkent city (9.0724 million soums), Navoi region (6.7661 million soums), Tashkent region (5.0979 million soums), Andijan region (4.6161 million soums), and Bukhara region (4.3439 million soums).

During the same period, the highest growth rates in average monthly nominal salaries were observed in Tashkent city (121.4%), Samarkand region (117.6%), Syrdarya region (116.7%), Namangan region (116.5%), and Fergana region (115.1%).

Effective from 1 October 2024, the minimum wage in Uzbekistan was raised to 1.155 million soums.

In 2024, the highest average monthly salaries by sector were recorded in banking, insurance, leasing, and financial intermediation, amounting to 15.26 million soums. In the information and communication sector, it reached 13.15 million soums, while in the transportation and storage sector it was 8.11 million soums, and in industry, it was 6.44 million soums—significantly above the national average.

Conversely, lower salary levels were observed in education (3.64 million soums) and healthcare and social services (3.41 million soums).

In the industrial sector, the highest salaries were recorded in mining and quarrying (9.13 million soums), electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (7.47 million soums), and manufacturing (6.18 million soums).

By region, Navoi region had the highest industrial salaries (9.66 million soums), followed by Tashkent city (7.48 million soums), Andijan region (6.6 million soums), Tashkent region (6.23 million soums), and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (6.1 million soums).

In construction, the highest average monthly salaries were reported in Tashkent region (8.57 million soums), Navoi region (7.32 million soums), and Tashkent city (7.17 million soums).

In trade, the highest salaries were observed in wholesale and retail trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles, including their repair (7.77 million soums). The lowest figures were recorded in retail trade, excluding vehicles and motorcycles (5.67 million soums).

Tashkent city (7 million soums), Jizzakh region (6.89 million soums), and Bukhara region (5.49 million soums) led in trade salaries. Jizzakh region recorded the highest growth rate (245.9%), followed by Surkhandarya (161.0%) and Fergana (159.3%) regions.

In the transportation and storage sector, the highest salaries were seen in warehouse and auxiliary transportation activities (9.5999 million soums), while postal and courier services reported the lowest (3.875 million soums).

By region, the highest transportation and storage salaries were recorded in Samarkand region (9.9214 million soums), Tashkent city (9.2802 million soums), and Khorezm region (8.9449 million soums). Samarkand region also saw the highest growth rate (175.1%), followed by Jizzakh (133.0%) and Syrdarya (126.4%) regions.

In information and communication, the highest salaries were reported in computer programming, consulting, and other related services (18.2886 million soums). The lowest salaries were in the telecommunications sector (10.9171 million soums).

By region, the highest information and communication salaries were observed in Tashkent city (14.8576 million soums), Andijan region (9.0246 million soums), and Samarkand region (8.9447 million soums). Tashkent city (124.8%) and Andijan region (119.9%) also reported high growth rates.

In banking, insurance, leasing, and financial intermediation, the highest salaries were recorded in insurance, reinsurance, and pension funds, excluding compulsory social insurance (17.8485 million soums). The lowest salaries in this sector were in financial services other than insurance and pensions (15.0041 million soums).

The highest regional salaries in this sector were seen in Tashkent city (18.9044 million soums), Andijan region (14.3179 million soums), and Navoi region (13.2581 million soums). Notable growth rates were observed in Khorezm (119.9%) and Bukhara (116.7%) regions.

In education, the highest salaries were recorded in higher education (8.5621 million soums), while the lowest were in preschool education (1.9633 million soums).

Regionally, Tashkent city led in education salaries (6.0912 million soums), followed by Namangan (3.5916 million soums) and Tashkent (3.5912 million soums) regions. The highest growth rates were reported in Tashkent city (119.5%) and Namangan region (117.3%).

In healthcare and social services, the highest salaries were recorded in Tashkent city (4.3139 million soums), Khorezm region (3.7008 million soums), and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (3.6484 million soums).

In accommodation and food services, the highest salaries were observed in Tashkent city (5.1794 million soums), Samarkand region (5.0982 million soums), and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (4.4166 million soums).

In arts, entertainment, and recreation, the highest salaries were recorded in Tashkent region (6.1707 million soums), Tashkent city (5.2021 million soums), and Kashkadarya region (4.6482 million soums). The highest growth rates were noted in Fergana (133.0%) and Samarkand (118.5%) regions.
