St. Petersburg Governor Presents Khairullo Ibodullayev with the "For Valor in Rescue" Award
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov presented janitor Khairullo Ibodullayev with the distinguished "For Valor in Rescue" decoration, recognizing the courage and selflessness he displayed in saving a child's life.
"I would like to thank you for what you did — it was a truly courageous act. You thought nothing of yourself. You were injured, but you saved the life of a seven-year-old child. Our entire city extends its deepest gratitude to you. Such goodness is never forgotten. Your family has every reason to be proud of you," the governor said at the ceremony held at Smolny.
In addition to the award, Ibodullayev received a commemorative watch as a personal gift from the governor.
The governor's press service emphasized that his act generated widespread public response and has become an example of humanity and civic courage.
As a reminder, Ibodullayev previously caught a seven-year-old boy who had fallen from the seventh floor of a residential building in the Petrogradsky district. For this act, he was awarded the Tigran Keosayan Prize of one million rubles and the Jasarat medal by the President of Uzbekistan.
Additionally, the State Duma put forward a proposal to grant Khairullo Ibodullayev Russian citizenship through an expedited procedure.
