Specialists of Uzbekistan takes part in the international webinar to combat COVID-19

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 16 April, a webinar was held on the topic “Diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19: the experience of Dr. Zhong Nanshan and his team”, organized for domestic specialists by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Dunyo reports.

A Chinese specialist was invited to a webinar with the support of the French branch of General Electric Healthcare.

It is worth noting that Dr. Zhong Nanshan is one of the world’s experts in the study of coronavirus infection. He discovered SARS coronavirus in 2003. He earned international fame for his activities during the outbreak of SARS, in particular for refuting official statements that downplayed the gravity of the crisis. During the outbreak of coronavirus in Wuhan late last and early 2020, he was appointed lead crisis management consultant. Recognized as one of the top ten scientists of China in 2010. He was president of the China Medical Association from 2005 to 2009. He is currently a professor at the Guangzhou Institute of Respiratory Diseases and editor-in-chief of the Thoracic Disease Journal

From the Uzbek side, the event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Republican Scientific Center for Medical Assistance, the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Forensic Medicine, the Republican Center for Pediatrics, the Republican Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics, as well as the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Urology.

At the webinar, an exchange of experience on the fight against coronavirus and the conclusions made over the past period took place. A foreign specialist spoke about the main difficulties in screening and diagnosing COVID-19, and also shared recommendations on the provision of intensive care for critically ill patients.
