Special envoy of Uzbek Presidents meets with Ambassador of Iran

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 December 2018, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran Bahman Agharazi Dormani.

According to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, the sides exchanged views on the current issues of Uzbekistan – Iran agenda.

The parties noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of bilateral relations in 2018 and considered proposals on a schedule of joint activities in 2019.

The issue of cooperation within the framework of assistance to the Afghan peace process, as well as prospects for cooperation in implementing infrastructure projects in Afghanistan, in particular construction of a railway line of regional importance were discussed.
