Special Assistant to US President pays visit to Uzbekistan

She arrived in Uzbekistan within the regular bilateral contacts at various levels.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received Celeste Anna Wallander at the presidential residence Oqsaroy on 13 June 2014.

The sides discussed actual issues of bilateral cooperation in various areas, international and regional issues.

During the meeting, the sides also exchanged on development of situation in Afghanistan, its impact to regional processes, as well as other issues of mutual interest.

On Friday, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov also received Celeste Anna Wallander.

At the meeting, they discussed actual issues of cooperation between two nations. The sides underlined positive dynamics of the Uzbek-US dialogue directed at further developing relations in the spheres of mutual interest.

The sides exchanged opinion on situation in the region, including situation in Afghanistan, and other international problems.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America George Krol attended the meetings.
