Sodik Safoev takes part in the "round table" as part of the week "e-CAMCA WEEK"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15-19 June 2020, a week of the WEEK e-CAMKA forum is held. As information, it can be noted that the CAMCA regional forum (Central Asia - Mongolia - Caucasus - Afghanistan) is a non-political platform aimed at supporting the regional dialogue on broad issues, including sustainable development and expanding cooperation.

On 17 June, the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sodik Safoev took part in the “round table” held in the form of video conferencing on the topic “Problems after the period of the coronavirus pandemic and the opportunity for the CAMCA region”.

The round table was attended by Director of the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute at the US University J. Hopkins Svante Cornell, Dean of the Department of International Security at the George Marshall Center for Security Studies in Europe Andrew Mickt, as well as experts and businessmen from the United Kingdom and Mongolia.

During the dialogue, work carried out in a pandemic in the socio-economic sphere was discussed. So, the participants praised the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan. It was noted that today the initiatives and efforts undertaken by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan over the past three years give their results.

Michael Zellman, Executive Director of Calatrava Grace, emphasized that the adopted construction programs for standard projects for affordable housing in rural areas and new buildings with numerous apartments in cities were important in improving the living conditions of the population during the pandemic.

It was also emphasized that our country occupies a leading position in Central Asia in countering coronavirus infection in the country and mitigating its negative impact.

In 2019 Tashkent hosted the regional forum CAMCA (Central Asia - Mongolia - Caucasus - Afghanistan).
