According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the USA, Congressman Michael Guest warmly recalled the visit of the Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant to Uzbekistan in May this year. According to him, "this was the first and very successful visit of the American governor to the republic." Congressman believes that there are many similarities between Uzbekistan and the state of Mississippi - developed agriculture, advanced textile and cotton industry, convenient geographical location, hardworking people.

Congressman Vicente Gonzalez confirmed that “Uzbekistan is of great interest to the United States,” and expressed interest in organizing a visit by Texas companies to Uzbekistan next year to conduct substantive negotiations on the prospects for implementing joint projects in the oil and gas sector.

In turn, Congressman Michael Guest invited representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and the Uztekstilprom Association to Mississippi to discuss issues of deepening cooperation in the agricultural sector and the textile industry.
