Social Media Spread False Reports About Closure of Uzbekistan’s Border Customs Posts

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Social media platforms circulated inaccurate information claiming that several border customs posts in Uzbekistan had been closed, the Customs Committee’s press service reported.

In reality, according to Presidential Decree No. PF-250 dated 17 December 2025, an experimental procedure is being introduced at six customs posts and checkpoints until 31 December 2026: the inspection of vehicles will be carried out by border troops.

This measure does not involve the closure of any posts.

The Committee clarified that some customs control procedures are being delegated to the border troops to reduce redundant functions and increase operational efficiency.

As a result, all affected customs posts will continue operating as usual.
