Smart City Science Center Launched in Namangan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Namangan region has officially launched the Smart City science and practice center, aimed at digitalizing governance systems and integrating artificial intelligence technologies into regional development.

The project is being implemented under Presidential Decree No. PF-189 of October 22, 2025, “On Additional Measures for the Further Development of Artificial Intelligence Technologies.”

At the core of the initiative, Namangan State Technical University will host an Artificial Intelligence Laboratory to develop practical skills among students and enhance the scientific potential of faculty members. The laboratory will enable the application of AI in real-world projects and support the digital transformation of educational and administrative processes.

A total of 16 billion sum has been allocated for the project. The official launch ceremony was attended by Namangan regional governor Shavkatjon Abdurazzakov, along with senior community representatives and members of the public.

The initiative is expected to be a key step toward implementing the Smart City concept, modernizing the region digitally, and creating a safe and comfortable environment for residents of Namangan.
