Skolkovo Foundation and Uzbekistan Strengthen Cooperation in Artificial Intelligence

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, held a meeting with Timur Kornilov, Managing Director of the Skolkovo Foundation for Strategic International Cooperation and Knowledge and Technology Transfer.

The discussion focused on expanding bilateral cooperation, developing digital technologies, and implementing joint forward-looking initiatives in the field of artificial intelligence.

As part of the Skolkovo Foundation’s visit to Uzbekistan, a number of key initiatives are planned. In particular, the parties agreed to establish a Skolkovo AI technopark in the country, as well as to form a portfolio of two to three joint pilot projects aimed at introducing AI technologies into priority sectors.

They also discussed the involvement of relevant ministries and agencies in the creation of the technopark and its integration into the country’s national digital ecosystem.

During the dialogue, both sides emphasized the importance of developing AI infrastructure within the framework of the Digital Uzbekistan 2030 strategy, incorporating advanced international expertise and creating new approaches to cooperation.

The Minister noted that modern agriculture is impossible without artificial intelligence. Digital technologies have become a key factor in enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of the agricultural sector, making it essential to expand practical cooperation and adopt advanced solutions. He also reaffirmed Uzbekistan’s readiness to exchange international experience in the digitalization of agriculture and the use of AI technologies.

These initiatives represent an important step in the development of Uzbekistan’s digital economy and the broad introduction of innovative technologies, contributing to the formation of a full-fledged artificial intelligence ecosystem in the country.
