Six Uzbek Boxers Advance to Finals at the IBA World Championship in Dubai
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Six Uzbek boxers have advanced to the final bouts of the 2025 IBA World Boxing Championship, currently taking place in Dubai, UAE.
In the 60 kg category, Abdumalik Kholakov convincingly defeated Armenian Artur Bazeyan 5:0, while in the 67 kg division, Asadhuja Muydinhujaev overcame Moldovan Alexandru Paraschiv with the same score.
In the 51 kg category, Hasanboy Dusmatov dominated Armenian Rudolf Garboy, winning all five judges’ scores 5:0 and leaving his opponent no chance.
A particularly notable victory came in the 80 kg category, where Javokhir Ummataliyev secured a decisive 5:0 win over Cuban two-time Olympic champion Arlen Lopez.
In the 92 kg division, Turabek Khabibullaev also defeated Cuban-born Alfonso Dominguez, representing Azerbaijan, with a 5:0 score. In the heaviest category, over 92 kg, Arman Makhanov advanced to the final after defeating Armenian Davit Chaloyan 5:2.
Bronze medals were awarded to Khojanazar Nortojiev in the 57 kg division, who lost to Tajikistan’s Khusravhon Rakhimov 0:5, and Asilbek Jalilov in the 54 kg category, defeated by Russian Vyacheslav Rogozin 0:5 by judges’ decision.
The semifinal match in the 75 kg division between Fazliddin Erkinboev and Kazakh Sabirjan Akkalikov was canceled due to an injury to the Uzbek athlete, and Erkinboev was also awarded a bronze medal.
The final bouts of the 2025 IBA World Boxing Championship will take place on 13 December 2025.
