Situation with gasoline prices should change in the coming days – Deputy Chairman of Antimonopoly Committee

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Gasoline prices in Uzbekistan will stabilize within 10-15 days. This was announced by the Deputy Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee Farrukh Karabayev.

According to him, the factors affecting gasoline prices have been studied and clear instructions have been given, and the necessary measures are being taken to stabilize prices. “A specially created interagency working group is working to stabilize prices,” he said.

Farrukh Karabayev stressed that the situation with rising prices should change in the coming days.

He added: “Where the natural rise in gasoline prices has been based on market mechanisms, we cannot influence this. But there is an opportunity to influence artificially created, coordinated, manipulative actions.”

Karabayev said that there were cases of manipulation of the rise in gasoline prices, signs of artificial cancellation of cheap gasoline.

“Necessary measures will be taken. It is a matter of time before gasoline prices stabilize and fall. But within 10-15 days the prices will change,” said the deputy chairman of the committee.

At the same time, Farrukh Karabayev said that large wholesale buyers work with very low profitability and in the process of selling are faced with a sharply increased demand for gasoline.

Karabayev noted that gasoline supplies will be carried out in small quantities so that ordinary gas stations can receive gasoline and replenish its stocks. In his opinion, this will help prevent an artificial rise in gasoline prices.
