Silk Hygiene Products Manufacturer Secures Compensation for Trademark Infringement
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An Uzbek manufacturer of hygiene products operating under the Silk brand has secured compensation for the infringement of its trademark rights following the discovery of unlawful use of the brand, the Intellectual Property Center under the Ministry of Justice reported.
The complaint was filed with the justice authorities by the Tashkent-based private enterprise Rose Diamond, the legal owner of the Silk trademark.
The company pointed to the actions of a firm identified as S.B., which, according to the inspection, had been using the registered trademark without the permission of the rights holder.
During the inspection, officials from the Ministry of Justice identified counterfeit products at S.B. bearing the illegally used Silk brand.
As a result of the proceedings, the Intellectual Property Center applied statutory enforcement measures against the infringer.
To recover the damages incurred, Rose Diamond filed a lawsuit. By a court ruling dated 4 December 2025, compensation in the amount of 123 million soums was awarded to the trademark owner, along with 12 million soums in court costs.
The Ministry of Justice emphasized that the protection of intellectual property rights remains one of its key priorities, noting that such measures are aimed at curbing the circulation of counterfeit goods and supporting bona fide manufacturers.
