Siemens delegation visits Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29-31 October, a delegation of Siemens led by the President of the company in Russia and Central Asia Alexander Liberov visited the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the visit, meetings were held with the Prime Minister of the Republic Abdulla Aripov, as well as with the company’s partners, where current and future joint projects in the energy, industrial, transport and other sectors were discussed.
The meeting with the Uzbekneftegaz was devoted to cooperation in the fuel and energy industry, at which further technological partnership and the construction of a plant for the production of synthetic liquid fuel in Kashkadarya region were discussed. The technologies of the concern can also be used in the expansion project of the Shurtan gas and chemical complex.
Siemens management also held talks with representatives of Uzbekenergo. In particular, the issues of the company’s participation in the expansion project of the Talimarjan TPP, the Tashkent TPP, the modernization of the Syrdarya thermal power station, the possibility of using Smart Grid technologies in the country’s power grid economy were touched upon.
During the meeting with the leadership of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari, cooperation in the supply of locomotives, railway automation, as well as a project to automate sorting stations was discussed.
In November last year, Siemens and Uzbekistan announced the launch of a large-scale cooperation program. Then agreements were signed on technology partnership in the field of the fuel and energy complex, “smart cities” (digitalization of urban infrastructure) and health care.
