Siemens continues to develop cooperation with Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Siemens led by the President of the company in Russia and Central Asia Dietrich Möller visited Uzbekistan from 14 to 17 May 2018.

According to the press service of the company, the delegation held talks with the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov. Also, meetings were held with representatives of ministries and departments of Uzbekistan and business partners of the company.

During these meetings, the parties discussed current and future joint projects in the energy, industrial and other sectors.

Dietrich Möller, commenting on the visit of the delegation to Uzbekistan, recalled that in November 2017, Siemens and Uzbekistan announced the launch of a large-scale cooperation program. Then the parties signed agreements on technology partnership in the field of fuel and energy complex, "smart cities" (digitalization of urban infrastructure) and health.

"Over the past six months, we have made significant progress in the dialogue with our partners in all areas. Siemens regards the country as one of the promising markets in Central Asia and expects to start implementing joint projects in the near future," Möller said.

The delegation of Siemens also held a meeting with Odil Temirov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Uzbekneftegaz. The sides discussed cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, including construction of a plant for production of synthetic liquid fuels in Kashkadarya region.

Technologies of the concern can also be used in implementation of the project of a booster compressor station at the Uchkyr field in Bukhara region.

During the visit, a Protocol of Intent was signed between Siemens and Uz-Kor Gas Chemical with a view to concluding in the near future a contract for the maintenance of rotating equipment installed on the site of the Ustyurt gas chemical complex for a 15-year period.
