“Sichuan – Tashkent” Business Forum Held in Tashkent to Strengthen Trade and Economic Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 23 September, as part of the visit of a delegation from China’s Sichuan Province, the “Sichuan – Tashkent” business forum was held in Tashkent, focusing on the development of trade, economic, and investment cooperation.

The event was attended by Pubu Dunchzhu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of Sichuan CPC, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Ilzat Kasimov, the leadership of the Tashkent city administration, and representatives from the business communities of both countries.

The forum opened with a presentation on Uzbekistan’s investment potential. It was noted that trade with Sichuan Province is the largest among Central Asian countries, and the number of joint ventures is rapidly growing — over 800 new companies were registered this year alone, bringing the total number of joint ventures to 4,500.

During the forum, agreements on cooperation were signed, and the Central Asian Regional Center of Dongfang Electric was officially inaugurated.

Negotiations between Ilzat Kasimov and Pubu Dunchzhu also took place, during which the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in energy, geology, chemical industry, transportation, agriculture, and water management.

Special attention was given to deepening trade and economic ties between Tashkent and Sichuan, emphasizing the strategic importance of this direction for the development of bilateral partnership.
