Shymkent to host the ninth annual Central Asian Trade Forum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) holds a large-scale international business event, the ninth annual Central Asian Trade Forum on 12-13 November 2019 in Shymkent.

Shymkent is an important regional hub connecting the two largest economies in the region and serves as a transit hub for transporting goods from all over the region. The forum is expected to be attended by company leaders, representatives of the public sector and industry experts from Central and South Asia, Europe and the United States. The theme of this year’s forum is “Innovative and investment approaches in the fruit and vegetable sector”. Participants will learn about new technologies, investment opportunities, the prospects of trade cooperation and net waking for finding new partners.

On the first day of the forum, participants will get acquainted with various innovative and investment approaches in the fruit and vegetable sector in Central Asia and beyond. Experts of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will hold a session on the production of fruits and vegetables: increasing yields, investment and finance, and technological processes. Specialists of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) will familiarize with the production of organic products in the region. The international training company "CERT Academy" will hold an international practical conference: "Change thinking in control systems with the new standards ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 22000: 2018 and ISO 45001: 2018."

On the second day of the forum, participants will be able to visit the AgriTech 2019 International Specialized Exhibition of Agriculture in South Kazakhstan, an industry trading platform for demonstrating agricultural machinery, equipment, new technologies for growing fruits and vegetables, or take part in field events - visit a modern logistics center or see sights Turkestan.

The forum is organized by the USAID project on competitiveness, trade and job creation in Central Asia in partnership with the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Agrobiz.kz Agricultural Portal, CERT Academy, EBRD and UNDP.
