Shota Rustaveli Street: Traffic Reopened, Works in Final Stages

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Shota Rustaveli Street has been reopened to vehicular traffic on the section from Shakhrisabz Street to Chupon Ota Street.

Traffic has been launched on this key city thoroughfare, while work continues at an accelerated pace on the stretch from Chupon Ota to Yangi Sergeli, according to the Tashkent city administration.

The reopening is technical in nature, accompanied by non-construction-related technical and technological activities. Access points from adjacent neighborhoods have been completed, utility networks laid, and bus stops delineated.

On the section, road lighting has been partially installed, temporary lane markings applied, and installation of bus stop facilities along the dedicated lane is ongoing. Most modern road signs have been installed, and all traffic light complexes are operational.

Completion of all works will continue in coordination with the relevant services. The decision to open traffic is part of a phased plan to restore road accessibility and aims to improve the city’s transport situation.

Residents are asked to be understanding of any minor deficiencies and temporary issues, which will be resolved as work progresses.

Extra caution is recommended for all road users, especially parents with children, as construction equipment and personnel remain present on the roadway.
